A new group of work from the series Substrates (2022 - Ongoing)
Composed of dehydrated organic material, Substrates is a group of artworks that draws inspiration from the essential volumes of minimalism, projecting them ideally into a post-human dimension of nature reclaiming spaces and materials. The essential monoliths of the 1960s are here corrupted by the growth of mycelium and fungi, which chromatically, formally, and in the composition of the material that constitutes them, modify them. Fungi have always played a fundamental role in ecosystem transformation, converting inorganic matter into organic material, living symbiotically with other life forms, and acting as connectors among plants. In these artworks, their process of continuous transformation is crystallized at a specific moment through dehydration. They represent an attempt at a visual exploration of the processes that constantly occur in nature, hidden from the human gaze, underground, or of which we only perceive a small part—the fruiting body.

The "Prototipo" (prototype) series explores the relationship between an object and its user. Reinterpreting the forms of iconic design lamps or starting with existing lamps and combining them with natural elements, it seeks to rethink design through self-design and the unpredictability of natural forms. It is a model for reaffirming individual creativity and the need for non-conformity, imperfection, and the wonder that nature can combine with standardized elements.
Prototipo was born in 2024 using lagenaria pumpkins (calabash) grown by Fossati, and continued in 2025 with pumpkins purchased from a local grower. The works in the series are halfway between sculpture and design object: they are luminous bodies made from dried pumpkins, hollowed out and transformed into natural lampshades. These lamp-sculptures are a reinterpretation of design objects that are both ironic and eco-sustainable. Hung from the ceiling, placed on top of furniture, or placed on the ground to simulate a forest where the electrical cables resemble a tangle of surface roots, they transform the space into an immersive environment through light.

Eight Autumns, the exhibition held at IAGA Contemporary in Cluj/Napoca, curated by Camilla Remondina, is the first survey of the Organic Pictures series (2016 - ongoing). Every season from 2016 to 2023 is presented with at least a piece. Works on canvas in different size and shape, made by eco-printing parts of spontaneous plants, are in dynamic dialogue with the space and to each other.
